Rabbits Unit
It is a masonry house measuring 8.5 x 19.5 m, being divided in
5 rooms, each one with an independent door from outside. Insulation of
the house is good and ventilation is natural.
Each room is equipped with 28 flat deck cages, 50 x 67 cm,
each one for 6 kits from weaning to marketing (about 2 kg liveweight),
after some 30 days growing. Then, each room can hold 168 kits and the
unit a total of 840 rabbits.
Each cage is equipped with a nipple drinker and a metal feeder.
Water supply is independent for each room. Droppings are collected in a
pit underneath the cages.
